Portfolio company Muval is saving friendships this summer by swapping sweat and swearing for beers.

The removalist booking website has partnered with Straddie Brewing Co to brew its very own beer, MuvAle.

Refer a mate to Muval and when their move is complete, both parties will receive a free six-pack.

Co-founder and CEO James Morrell said the idea for the campaign came about after a national survey found when it came to being asked a favour, helping friends move was the most hated.

“We know Aussies love their mates and they love their beer,” he said.

“We also know more people are relocating than ever before.

“With moving house the most likely favour to be asked, and the most loathed, we wanted to give Aussies a free pass this summer.

“So, if you get asked to help a mate move house, send them our way.

“We’ll do the work and you and your mates keep the beers.”

Muval, a free online booking platform that compares the best local and interstate removalists, has experienced a surge in enquiries since the Covid-19 pandemic started.

It has also collected data that shows people are continuing to relocate from places like Sydney and Melbourne – which have been hit hard by the virus – to Brisbane and regional areas.

In the three months to October 2021, the Queensland capital recorded net positive migration of 95 per cent, compared to -55 per cent in Melbourne.
